Mr. Phillips (by J. Garcia-Pallares)

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Mr. Phillips wanted to be a football player and get in to the NFL. His favorite team in the NFL is the Seattle Seahawks.
What was your first job? How did you get it?
Mr. Phillips first job he had was berry picking. He made it to the hour crew. He also made a little bit more money: a dollar an hour.
What was your first boss like? What did you learn from him or her?
His first boss was Japanese-American, his boss was hardnosed. He could not see you standing around or check you up in his journal. He was also strict. Mr. Phillips learned to be fast worker, work hard, and try to earn more jobs and have more responsibilities.

Where do you like to go or take in your vacation?
He takes his daughters to a golf course in Disneyland as a family. Now that his daughters are growing up, they are not having enough family get-togethers.
Where else would you like to travel?

Mr. Phillips likes to go to Palm Springs, California and take his wife. He also would like to go to Europe. When he retires he would like to drive around state to state and learn new cultures. He would also like to meet new people and different customs.

Mrs. Mac (by: R. Johnson-Bennett)

We have a new wonderful addition to our staff this year. Her name is Lisa McIntyre and she is the new vice principal. She came from West Salem High School and is really exited and enthusiastic about being here this year. To get to know her better, we asked her a couple questions. Mrs. McIntyre has always wanted to be a teacher. Her first job was making sandwiches at the OSU campus Subway were she learned that being on time hard work and that the customer is always right. She had thoughts about being a pediatrician and even a wedding planner but then found that she liked working in the teaching field. Her favorite color is purple and she loves salmon fishing on her boat in her spare time.

So when u see Mrs. Mac don’t hesitate to say hello!

Patrick Gilliland (by A. Hudson)

-What did you want to be when you grew up?
“I wanted to be a tight end for the Oakland Raiders; at one time I also wanted to be a Police Officer, Or a part of the military."

-What was your first job, and how did you get it?
“Let’s see… my first real job with applications and everything was a bus boy at Carrows Restaurant. My mom ate there a bunch and she knew the manager pretty well. So she let me know when they had a job opening. Though I guess my very first real job was berry picking back in elementary school."

-What was your first boss like? What did you learn from him or her?
“I never had any issues with my boss. He was fine with me working there as long as I did my job right, which I did. I don’t really remember much about it. I suppose it taught me that when other people are doing their job, it’s best to just get out of their way and let them do it.”

-What do you want others to know about you?
"I do my best not to judge people. There are very few people that truly bug me. Also I got expelled in high school. Not for anything like drugs, I just didn’t really show up for any of the classes, the ones that I did I came in late. The only one I really showed up for was P.E."

-What was the first movie you ever saw in the movie theater?
"I don’t remember the first movie I saw in a theater, but I do remember going to the drive in and watching Night of the Living Dead."
